The Mei Tais

The original:
This is just your typical mei tai! A pocket on one side and straps to coordinate with the body. I tend to use tan or dark brown. But have used black, yellow, and multi colored depending on what the mommy wants! The price on these are negotiable if you want to buy your own fabric. Otherwise they are $60.
Reversable Mei Tai:
My personal mei tai is reversable with coordinating fabrics. These pictures below are of a mei tai that is reversable with the same fabric as the straps on the reverse side. This is GREAT for daddy's that like to wear baby, but aren't quite as concerned about fashion as us mommies are! ; ) There is a pocket on each side and they run $70.

Custom Milestone Mei Tai:
This is an example of one of my custom mei tais. I made this for my brother-in-law out of his old marine fatigues from serving our country in Iraq. I have also done custom mei tais for people in a patch work type style. Customs are much more labor intensive and difficult, so they run about $80.

Details on the "others"!

Custom Burp Cloths:

I love to make these as gifts for girlfriends! Their so cute! One custom burp cloth, with the name on it runs $10. But I can also make a second burp cloth using the same fabric from the name to do a middle panal on it. And then it would be two for $15. I'll post a picture soon of a set of burp cloths. Current fabrics available are:

The Cloth Wipes:

I use these with my own little man. They are recycled flannel from recieving blankets and the reverse side is recycled terry from baby towels. Waste not, want not!! ; ) They are approximatly 7 x 7 inches. One easily cleans up a descently poopy bottom! I sell them 3 cloths for $5. Or 7 cloths for $10. Right now, in stock I have these colors. Otherwise, if your interested, you could comment and tell me what colors you would like, and I would work on some in those colors:

Car Craft Kit:

I have these for my girls too. There are eight seperate sleeves for crayons and one for a pad of paper. I can include crayons and paper too. These run around $12.

The details

Baby wearing has long been practiced in cultures around the world, and research proves that "worn" babies are happier and learn more quickly than their counterparts. Wearing your baby in the Mei Tai baby carrier, especially in the first several months after birth, will help baby gently transition to the world outside the womb. And wearing baby after the first several months will only make your life easier.
The Milestone Mei Tai is fashioned after an ancient Asian pattern. The basic concept is a fabric rectangle (called the body) with a strap coming from each corner. Each carrier is handmade by me, Lindsey, a stay-at-home mom. This carrier offers so much! You can carry your little one on the front, side or back. And it grows with your child, able to carry them from birth up to 35 pounds! One of my favorite things about the Milestone is that you can breastfeed hands free with it on!
The body measures 15 x 21 inches. The bottom straps are 4 x 30 inches and the top straps are 4 x 75 inches. All four straps are slightly cushioned for comfort and to keep them from bunching up in awkward places. The top of the body is cushioned to provide a little bit of a pillow for your little ones if they fall asleep. Also each carrier has a pocket on the front of the body measuring 6 x 6 inches.
When you purchase a Milestone Mei Tai baby carrier, you will receive a mesh laundry bag that will make washing your carrier easier. You can also use this mesh bag to transport your Milestone mei tai. I include an instructional pamphlet with pictures and explanations of how to use the carrier as well.

Photo Shoot

The following are a sampling of shots from a photo shoot we did in October of '07. I will also be posting some other pictures as I have time!

In the beginning...

This is me....starting a blog to show case my mei tais (and a few of my other tinkerings at the sewing machine). A small and humble way of providing alittle extra money for our family without taking me away from my kiddos!! I am asked often for a website to view pictures of my mei tais and so....now I'll have one!! Feel free to ask anything!!! I'm still figuring it all out.

God Bless!!
